The purpose of this one-day training, usually held six to nine months after team training, is to equip team members with skills. Training is offered for specific programs: sharing concern or early intervention skills; leading a discussion on personal and family guidelines for use and nonuse of alcohol and other drugs; a parenting prevention program; a scripture/Twelve Step class or small group curriculum to support recovery; or advocacy training. Programs are selected to meet the needs of the teams. It is also a time of inspiration and recommitment to the ministry as teams share their successes and challenges. Team facilitators often meet together to discuss their team’s progress and ideas for sustaining the ministry.
